Abstract
I will discuss how odd (or hall) viscosity arises from fluid-structure interaction in chiral thin films. As a background, I will first outline Einstein's viscosity correction in suspension of spheres, then talk about the rheology of rod-suspensions. Building on this, I will outline how odd viscosity emerges in thin films with spinning particles and how the coefficient can shear thicken.
