RESEARCH GROUP

The biophysics group focusses on understanding biological systems from a physical viewpoint. The methods of classical statistical physics and soft condensed matter physics are our primary tools. We are interested in mechanobiology, physics of the actomyosin cytoskeleton, active matter, mechanochemical pattern formation as relevant to morphogenetic processes in developing embryos...etc.

Visit the biophysics group page for more details.

Our group has strong theoretical collaborations with the Simons Centre and experimental groups at the National Centre for Biological Sciences, Indian Institute of Science, and the Dept of Biological Sciences at TIFR
