In this talk we will discuss the use of finite-size baths to probe physics of open quantum systems. We will spend the first half of the talk describing how finite size baths can allow to investigate the physics of steady current. For this, we will also present experimental results obtained on a superconducting quantum processor.
In the second half, we will develop this line of research further and show how it can give a perspective on measurement-induced phase transition. More specifically, we will show a completely unitary system which present a phase transition analogous to measurement-induced phase transition.
