Abstract

This talk surveys recent progress in understanding Virasoro conformal blocks through probabilistic approaches. We describe how tools from probability provide new perspectives on the definition and analysis of conformal blocks, illuminating their structural features such as fusion relations (the celebrated Ponsot–Teschner formula), as well as their semi-classical behavior. A central theme is how stochastic and variational methods reveal analytic and geometric structures underlying conformal blocks. We also present ongoing work in the semi-classical regime, where conformal blocks encode the symplectic geometry of moduli spaces of flat connections, thereby offering a probabilistic pathway to the Nekrasov–Rosly–Shatashvili correspondence.
