Students and teachers from the Vidya Mandir PU College, Bengaluru visited ICTS on 22nd September 2026. They attended talks by the members of the ICTS community.
ICTS faculty member Vishal Vasan discussed sequences in the context of how they were developed historically to estimate irrational numbers. After this, Nitesh Kumar talked about tricks bacteria use to swim in water, explaining how, owing to their size, swimming in water for them would be as difficult as swimming in honey would be for us. Following this, Madhusudan H. R., ICTS Outreach Coordinator, inspired the role of questioning, curiosity, and scientific thinking in everyday life. The session drew from the life of Michael Faraday, whose birthday was on the same day. The session ended with a demonstration of Faraday waves by Ikbal Ahmed from ICTS labs.
ICTS Outreach regularly coordinates exposure visits for student groups. These visits typically include talks, demonstrations, and interactive sessions related to research areas at ICTS. Please note that exposure visits do not include a campus tour. Institutions or groups interested in organising a visit may contact ICTS Outreach at outreach@icts.res.in .
