60 students from MES PU College visited ICTS on 25 August 2026, accompanied by their teachers. The students interacted with Nitesh Kumar, Akash Maurya, and Madhusudan H.R. from ICTS.
Nitesh Kumar, a PhD student from the Physics of Life program at ICTS, discussed strategies while playing rock-paper-scissors and how lizards use them in the mountains of California, introducing game theory to students. ICTS graduate student Akash Maurya introduced ‘gravitational waves’ and how researchers, including him, are now using them to unravel the mysteries of the universe. Following this, ICTS outreach coordinator Madhusudan HR, using the sound produced by a wine glass with water, took the students through the process of making observations of nature and drawing scientifically sound conclusions from them.
ICTS Outreach regularly coordinates exposure visits for student groups. These visits typically include talks, demonstrations, and interactive sessions related to research areas at ICTS. Please note that exposure visits do not include a campus tour. Institutions or groups interested in organising a visit may contact ICTS Outreach at outreach@icts.res.in .
