A group of 36 Class 11 students from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) across Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat visited ICTS-TIFR as part of the Lakshya Science Enrichment Program, co-hosted by the Department of Mathematics at Indian Institute of Science and the Agastya International Foundation. The group was accompanied by 13 participants, including members of the Agastya Foundation and JNV teachers.
The visit featured a series of interactive sessions introducing students to contemporary ideas in science and mathematics. Students attended talks on the application of physics concepts in developmental biology, engaging actively through questions and discussions. The group also visited the Panini Library and participated in a session on Brownian motion, which introduced ideas from stochastic processes through demonstrations and examples. The visit concluded with a problem-solving activity exploring patterns in calendars and magic squares.
ICTS Outreach regularly coordinates exposure visits for student groups. These visits typically include talks, demonstrations, and interactive sessions related to research areas at ICTS. Please note that exposure visits do not include a campus tour. Institutions or groups interested in organising a visit may contact ICTS Outreach at outreach@icts.res.in.
