International Centre for Theoretical Sciences (ICTS) of the Tata Institute for Fundamental Research (TIFR), a premier research centre under the aegis of Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, is looking for highly motivated and self-driven individuals for appointment to the post of Scientific Officer "C" at its Bangalore Office. The candidates should have the following qualifications and experience:

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  1. BE or ME  (Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), or any IT related stream) with a minimum of 60% marks.
  2. Formal qualification/certification course(s) on Website Development,  PHP, Database, RDBMS, Content Management System.
  3. Minimum one year of work experience/exposure in areas of Website Design and Development on open source software, LAMP, Python and knowledge of website security.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience:

  1. Candidates with working knowledge and experience of the following will have added advantage
    • LAN, WAN and Wireless network
    • Audio-Visual equipment and various formats for web enabled services
    • High Performance Computing
  2. Candidates should have good communication and documentation skills.

Job Profile:

This job involves performing the following tasks, as assigned by the Director from time-to-time:   maintenance of dynamic website, updating data on website, developing modules on website as per requirements, mapping user requirements into technical document for website development, testing web modules independently, liaising with users of website, clear understanding of complete website hosting, upkeep and smooth functionality of the website and development of website flow.

Location: Bangalore

Scale of Pay: PB 3 (Rs. 15600 – 39100/-) with Grade Pay Rs. 5400/-

Upper Age limit: 28 years (as on 1.7.2013)

The post is tenable at Bangalore, but is liable to be transferred to the Institute’s headquarters at Mumbai or any other field stations. Appointment for the post will be initially for a period of three years, including probation period of one year. Continuing appointment beyond the initial period of three years will be subject to the results of a comprehensive review and performance appraisal.

The selected candidate shall be required to join immediately. Higher starting salary can be considered for candidate with outstanding track record and experience in relevant field.
