The International Centre for Theoretical Sciences (ICTS) of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) is seeking applications from candidates with outstanding academic records for one or more faculty positions at senior and junior levels, in the general area of applied and interdisciplinary mathematics, to be a part of the "interdisciplinary mathematics" unit at ICTS.
The main idea behind this unit will be to develop mathematical research in interdisciplinary areas such as statistics, probability, networks,discrete mathematics, computations, and interactions with ideas from fields such as biology, social sciences, earth sciences, computer science, and many others. We would like this unit to be a part of the scientific ecosystem within ICTS. We envisage that this unit will consist of a critical number of faculty members, who will grow a strong group with an active postdoctoral and student program.

About ICTS-TIFR: Founded in 2007, the ICTS is a new initiative in Indian science. It is conceived to contribute to the growth of excellence in the basic sciences through its programs, interactions and cross-fertilization between disciplines, as well as in-house research. A new campus for the Centre will be fully functional by early 2015. It is located in north Bangalore, within easy commuting distance from several notable institutions, including the Indian Institute of Science, the National Centre for Biological Sciences of TIFR and the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research. Apart from facilities for conducting research by ICTS faculty, it will have a modern and well-equipped program complex, guest-house and housing for academic members, as well as facilities such as a childcare centre, recreation complex, and so on.
