ICTS Management Board member Vivek S. Borkar has been selected as a National Science Chair of the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF).
Prof. Borkar, Institute Chair Professor at IIT Bombay, is widely recognized for his pioneering contributions to stochastic control, optimization, and learning theory. Over the course of his distinguished career, he has served on the faculties of IISc Bengaluru and TIFR Mumbai, and has held visiting positions at several leading international institutions.
Prof. Borkar is a recipient of the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize (1992) and is a Fellow of all major Indian science academies. His appointment is a recognition of decades of significant work at the intersection of mathematics, engineering, and systems science.
