ICTS Endowed Visiting Professor Vivek Borkar and ICTS Associate Bhaswar Bhattacharya have been elected Fellows of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics (IMS). The IMS is one of the world’s most respected professional bodies in the field of probability and statistics.
Prof. Borkar is widely recognised for his seminal contributions to stochastic systems, control theory, and applied probability. Prof. Bhattacharya, faculty member in the Department of Statistics and Data Science, Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, has made important contributions to probability theory and statistics, particularly in areas intersecting combinatorics and random structures.
