ICTS faculty member Raghu Mahajan has received the 2026 Frontiers of Science Award. The award will be presented at the International Congress of Basic Sciences (ICBS), scheduled to take place in Beijing in August 2026.
The Frontiers of Science Awards honour high-impact research papers published over the past decade. Raghu has been recognised for his influential work on the Page Curve of Hawking Radiation from Semiclassical Geometry, co-authored with Ahmed Almheiri, Juan Maldacena, and Ying Zhao. The paper has played a key role in advancing understanding of black hole information and quantum gravity.
This marks the third time, across four editions of the ICBS, that an ICTS researcher has received the award.
