ICTS faculty members Parameswaran Ajith and Prayush Kumar, in collaboration with their Italian partners at Gran Sasso Science Institute in L’Aquila (Jan Harms and Andrea Maselli), have been awarded a joint Indo-Italian research grant under the international bilateral Science & Technology program of the DST.

Their project titled "Exploring the Dark Universe through Multi-Wavelength Gravitational Waves" is aimed at stimulating collaborative research in gravitational-wave physics and astronomy and enabling large science projects between India and Italy. This collaboration will focus on developing unique probes of fundamental physics, astrophysics and cosmology using upcoming gravitational-wave observatories. This includes the high-frequency detectors in India and Europe (LIGO- India and Einstein Telescope), as well as the space-based low-frequency detectors LISA and LGWA.

On behalf of ICTS, we congratulate them and wish them every success in shedding light on the mysteries of the dark universe.
