ICTS faculty members Parameswaran Ajith and Akshit Goyal have been awarded Simons Associateships by the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), Trieste, recognizing their outstanding contributions to fundamental research in physics and complex systems.

The Simons Associateship Programme supports scientists from developing countries by fostering long-term association with ICTP. It enables awardees to spend extended periods at ICTP, enriching their research through international collaboration.

P. Ajith’s research focuses on multiple facets of gravitational-wave astronomy. He has been a member of the LIGO Scientific Collaboration since 2004. He has played a key role in the interpretation of data from the LIGO–Virgo collaboration, contributing to the first direct detections of gravitational waves.

Akshit Goyal is a theoretical biophysicist working at the interface of statistical physics and ecology. His research explores the collective dynamics of evolving ecosystems.

On behalf of ICTS, we congratulate them on this well-deserved recognition of their work.
