Nobel laureate David J. Gross has been awarded the 2025 Basic Science Lifetime Award (BSLA) in Physics by the International Congress of Basic Science (ICBS). As the chairperson of ICTS’s International Advisory Board, Prof. Gross has played a crucial role in guiding the centre’s mission.
This accolade celebrates his discovery of asymptotic freedom as well as other pioneering contributions to elementary particle physics and string theory.
The Basic Science Lifetime Awards recognize exceptional scientists whose groundbreaking and innovative work in basic science has, over the past thirty years or more, fundamentally transformed their field.
ICTS congratulates Prof. Gross for yet another recognition of his profound contributions to science.
