ICTS is pleased to announce the third edition of Connect India, a dual residency programme under Connect, the international collaboration framework between Arts at CERN and the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia.
Artists Marie Matusz and Moonis Ahmad Shah have been selected for this year’s edition of the programme. Organised by Arts at CERN and ICTS, with support from Science Gallery Bengaluru, Connect India brings together one Swiss or Swiss-based artist and one artist from India to engage with cutting-edge scientific research in Geneva and Bengaluru.
The selected artists will undertake a three-week residency at CERN in Geneva, followed by a three-week residency at ICTS. At CERN, they will engage with physicists and engineers conducting pioneering research in particle physics. At ICTS, they will interact with researchers working across theoretical sciences, including physics, mathematics, computer science and physical biology. Throughout the residency, the artists will receive curatorial support from the Arts at CERN and ICTS teams as they develop new forms of artistic expression inspired by these scientific environments.
Launched in 2021 by CERN and Pro Helvetia, Connect promotes dialogue between artists and scientists through international dual residencies at CERN and leading scientific institutions around the world. Connect has built a growing global network of scientific partners, with ICTS among its key collaborators. Other partner institutions include the European Southern Observatory (ESO), the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA), and the Pierre Auger Observatory in South America.
ICTS congratulates Marie Matusz and Moonis Ahmad Shah on their selection and looks forward to welcoming them to ICTS and seeing the creative outcomes of their residency.
