ICTS is pleased to announce that two of its faculty members, Aavishkar Patel and Sarthak Chandra, have been awarded the inaugural Murty Science Fellowship. They are among four early-career researchers across the sciences selected as part of the first cohort of Murty Science Fellows 2025.
Aavishkar Patel’s research has shown a novel approach to understanding strange metals, a class of materials that plays an important role in uncovering the mechanisms behind high-temperature superconductivity. Sarthak Chandra’s work explores the neural basis of spatial perception using ideas and methods from dynamical systems.
Inspired by fellowships such as the MacArthur, HHMI, and Packard programs, the Murty Science Fellowship recognises outstanding early-career researchers. It gives them the freedom to pursue globally competitive research while based in India.
ICTS warmly congratulates Aavishkar and Sarthak on this prestigious recognition and looks forward to the continued impact of their work.
