There will be a conference excursion on the afternoon of Saturday, December 17.
Duration : 1430 hrs to 2100 hrs [starts at Holiday Inn, ends with drops at respective conference hotels]
We will visit the village of Cuncolim in South Goa, which is known in history for its 1583 uprising against Portuguese rule. Some information can be found at the links :
From Cuncolim, we will go to Sunset Beach, for a beach-side dinner.
Expected Itinerary :
1430 : Leave from Holiday Inn for Cuncolim by Conference Buses
1500 : Reach Cuncolim
1500 - 1600 : Walk around in the village and see : Madicotto chapel, Martyr's chapel, Chieftains' Memorial, Cuncolim Church [these are all very modest structures, significant for their historical value, rather than for architecture].
1600 : Leave for Sunset Beach
1630 : Arrive at Sunset Beach
1630 - 1830 : Your free time on the beach
1830 - 2030 : Goan Cuisine Dinner on the Beach [Planned by Holiday Inn and Hype Entertainment]
[You may buy your drinks at the bar counter]
2030 : Buses leave for conference hotels [If you are not staying at a conference hotel, you can still use the bus to go up to the conference hotel nearest to your place of stay].
All conference participants and their accompanying persons are welcome for the excursion.
Kindly keep your conference badge with you throughout the excursion. Badges will be provided for accompanying persons as well, at the time of registration.
