REGISTRATION : UPDATE 24th July, 2011

A decision e-mail from no-reply@wufoo.com has been sent to everyone who pre-registered for ICGC2011.   This e-mail includes decision on participation request, submitted abstract(s), registration fee and accommodation charges to be paid, and information on mode of payment.  IF YOU HAVE NOT RECEIVED SUCH AN E-MAIL PLEASE INFORM US BY SENDING AN E-MAIL TO   icgc2011 at tifr.res.in

We received a very large number of applications, and we are grateful for the interest shown in this conference. Unfortunately, because of various constraints, we are not in a position to invite all applicants. We deeply regret that we have had to say no to some requests.

Of the accepted abstracts, about half will be talks, and the other half will be posters. Posters will be an important component of the conference, and dedicated time will be set aside for poster viewing. There will be three best poster prizes, of INR 10,000/- each, one per parallel session. Instructions for preparing posters will be posted on the website in the near future.

The Registration Fee is 350 US Dollars, or INR 15,000/- if you are paying in Rupees. This Fee covers Conference material, lunches and coffee breaks, banquet, excursion, and daily transport from conference hotels to the conference venue. For logistic reasons, the number of participants will have to be limited to about 200. Graduate students are requested to ask their Ph. D. Supervisor to send a letter of recommendation, supporting their participation, latest by 30th June, 2011 to the e-mail address icgc2011@tifr.res.in

Online pre-registration is open on this site from 1st March, 2011 and closes on 30th June, 2011. During this period you can pre-register, and submit an Abstract which the Workshop Chairpersons will consider for a possible presentation as a contributed talk in one of the workshop sessions, or as a poster. A decision on your abstract will be conveyed to you sometime after 1st July, 2011 and latest by 31st July, 2011. No registration fee has to be paid during this period.

Your registration will be confirmed after you accept the invitation and pay the requisite registration fee and accommodation charges. Mode of payment will be explained in the email that you will receive. WE MUST RECEIVE YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF PARTICIPATION AND YOUR PAYMENT LATEST BY SEPTEMBER 15, 2011. 

A formal letter of invitation will be sent to you soon after your registration is complete, as a signed and scanned pdf file. This letter should be of assistance to you in obtaining an Indian Visa, should you require one. If you would like a hard copy of this letter, please email us.

WE HAVE RECEIVED A VERY LARGE NUMBER OF ABSTRACTS. AS A RESULT, MANY ABSTRACTS WILL HAVE TO BE INCLUDED AS POSTERS. WE WILL DO OUR BEST TO GIVE MAXIMAL COVERAGE TO POSTERS. THERE WILL BE THREE BEST POSTER PRIZES, ONE FOR EACH PARALLEL SESSION.

It is our endeavour to try and invite as many interested researchers as possible. In particular, we will make a special effort to make this a conference where participants will play an important role through their contributed talks, posters, and through discussions.
