Reaching IISER-Thiruvananthapuram

IISER-Thiruvananthapuram is located in the department of computer science within the well-known CET College (College of Engineering Trivandrum) in Kulathoor. CET College is also called the Govt. By Air:

Thiruvananthapuram is conveniently connected to the rest of the country as well as the world through more than two dozen domestic and international flights daily. Inside the airport, please go to pre-paid taxi booth for a cab to Sreekariyam/Chawdimukku. It will cost about Rs. 500/-. Please show the map to the driver to take you to the CET College.

By Bus:
The main bus terminus in Thiruvananthapuram is called Thampanoor (located opposite to the Trivandrum central railway station). Buses to the CET college campus are found from stand number 7 (buses going via Medical College). Bus tickets are in the range of Rs. 5- Rs. 10. Please disembark the bus at Chawdimukku. Please walk towards the kulathoor end of the Chawdimukku crossing and stand for a connecting bus to the CET College. CET College is only 10 minutes walking distance from Chawdimukku. You may also use an autorickshaw (Rs. 15/-) to come over to the CET College. Once, inside the CET college, please ask the security guard for directions to IISER.

By Train:
Please disembark at the Trivandrum central railway station. From the railway station you may proceed to the Thampanoor bus stand (please see the above paragraph for reaching CET College by bus). You may also board a pre-paid autorickshaw just outside the TVM railway station (Autorickshaw charge will be around Rs. 120/-). A link to the Indian Railways is available here.

  1. Speakers and Participants in the School are booked for one night extra before and after (eg for the School 3-20 Dec 2012, booked for nights of 2-21 Dec 2012, inclusive). 
  2. The conference dinner will be arranged at famous Kovalam beach on 14 Dec 2012. 
  3. There is no official excursion trip, but you may wish to see the city or nearby places of interest. IISER administrative staff may be able to provide you information about city tours, visits to nearby places of interest, restaurants etc. The hotel travel desk will also be very happy to plan your trip on request.
