Abstract
Rough (non-differentiable) flows are abundant in turbulent phenomena in nature. Can we study them mathematically? Are they solutions to the well-respected equations in fluid dynamics? Do these equations even support such solutions with the phenomena we observe in nature? In this talk, we'll discuss these questions from the point of view of convex integration: a technique for rigorously constructing (weak) solutions to certain non-linear PDEs. Based on joint works with Hyunju Kwon, Matthew Novack and Razvan-Octavian Radu.
