ICTS GRADUATE PROGRAMME STARTING AUGUST 2015
ICTS invites applications from highly motivated candidates interested in pursuing doctoral research in the theoretical and mathematical sciences. Current research at ICTS is in the areas of astrophysical relativity, statistical physics and turbulence, string theory and quantum gravity, and dynamical systems and data assimilation. Presently we are taking students for Integrated Ph.D and Ph.D programs in physics. Entry to ICTS is through the TIFR entrance exam or JEST (in Physics only with rank between 1-60) followed by an interview at ICTS.
Physics JEST qualified students need to apply directly to ICTS (see below).
Integrated Ph.D students will have to do two years of coursework before they begin their Ph.D work. Students selected for the Ph.D program will have to go through about one and half years of coursework. On successful completion of coursework, students can choose their line of research and register for their Ph.D. Some details of graduate course work can be found here (Ph.D course details, I-Ph.D course details). The students will receive a degree through the Physics Subject Board of the Graduate School of TIFR.

ELIGIBILITY:
For Ph.D.: M.Sc.(Physics)/B.Tech. (Engineering Physics)
For I-Ph.D.: B.Sc./B.E./M.E./M.Tech./B.Chem. or equivalent degree in Science / Engineering / Medicine, M.Sc. (not in Physics)/B.Tech. (not in Engineering Physics).
ADMISSION PROCEDURE:
Selected candidates (based on their earlier academic performance and in the qualifying tests mentioned above) will be called for a personal interview to be held at ICTS-TIFR, Bangalore.
