DATE & TIME
29 December 2025 to 02 January 2026
VENUE
Ramanujan Lecture Hall, ICTS Bengaluru

The goal  of the workshop is to stimulate interactions across the borders of mathematics and theoretical physics, in order to help foster research in these areas. Over the years the WIMP workshops have created a community and network for women who are “at the intersection of mathematics and theoretical physics”, a field where women are exceptionally underrepresented and genuine interaction can address this issue and also bring a lot of progress to both mathematics and theoretical physics

The program of the workshop will be based on pedagogical talks, with the goal to teach each other, stimulate interactions and to foster possible collaborations between the participants, as well as to educate the younger generation. In addition we propose to have talks and round table discussions related to gender issues in our field, trying to understand the problems and to search for possible solutions and actions specifically aimed at the younger generations.

Accommodation will be provided for outstation participants at our on campus guest house. Kindly note that we have very limited accommodation.

Eligibility criteria: The program is open to PhD students and postdoctoral researchers who are working in the area of theoretical physics and or mathematics with an interest in the intersection of the two. Exceptionally strong BSc candidates may be considered if supported by a strong recommendation letter. The program is committed to inclusivity—anyone meeting the eligibility criteria is encouraged to apply, regardless of gender.

Organized with support from the Raman Research Institute, Bengaluru

ICTS is committed to building an environment that is inclusive, non-discriminatory and welcoming of diverse individuals. We especially encourage the participation of women and other under-represented groups.
