Students selected for regular PhD (MA/MSc/MTech/ME) need to complete the coursework requirements and register for a PhD within 2 years of joining. 

Students are required to complete 48 credits consisting of coursework (introductory/topical/elective), reading courses, and research projects. The specific course structure for a student could be flexibly modeled depending on the research direction the student wishes to pursue and can be determined by the academic mentor and the associated committee. 

Successful candidates will receive a degree through the Mathematics Subject Board of the TIFR Graduate School.
