International Centre for Theoretical Sciences (ICTS) of the Tata Institute for Fundamental Research(TIFR), a premier research centre under the aegis of Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, is looking for appointment of Program Officers on the following posts at its Bangalore Office:

Administrative Officer “C” - 2 (Two) Posts

For these posts, the Centre is seeking highly motivated and self-driven individuals with the following qualifications and experience:

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

i. Graduate degree with minimum of 60% marks aggregate, from a reputed institution

ii. Diploma in Management

iii. Familiarity with computers, especially office applications, and usage of internet. Candidates who are comfortable working with both windows and linux based machines will be preferred.

iv. Minimum five years of service in grade pay 4200/4600/4800 level or equivalent grade

Desirable Qualifications & Experience:

i. Post Graduate degree in Business Management from a reputed institution;

ii. Work experience in dealing with administrative matters viz. Government of India rules & procedures, in a medium /large sized organization, preferably an academic/research institution

Job Profile:

This job involves performing the following tasks, as assigned by the Director from time-to-time: administrative tasks for academic and program activities, which involve processing of proposals for programs, rendering administrative support to various events of the Centre and compiling program reports for all programs; handling administrative work related to the Centre Director's office; compiling periodic reports about the activities of the Centre and development of its campus; administrative tasks related to setting up of the campus, which is inadvanced stage of planning; administrative support for pre-project activities related to construction of the campus and, once it is built, the maintenance of the campus and its facilities; any other task assigned by the Director from time-to-time.

Outstanding candidates with proven track record and experience in multiple areas relating to office administration, management and campus developmental activities will be preferred.

Location: Bangalore

Scale of Pay: PB 3 (Rs. 15600 – 39100/-) with Grade Pay Rs. 5400/-

Upper Age limit: Below 45 years (50 years for SC/ST and 48 years for OBC) (as on 1.1.2012)

The post is tenable at Bangalore, but is liable to be transferred to the Institute’s headquarters at Mumbai or any other field stations. Those working in Govt. /Semi Govt./Public sector undertaking should apply Through Proper Channel. Age will be relaxed for SC/ST/OBC/Ex-Servicemen candidates as per Institute Rules. Only those called for interview will be informed of the results and no interim correspondence of any kind will be entertained.

The selected candidates will be initially appointed on probation for a period of one year. Depending upon the performance of the selected candidates, the candidates may be offered a continuing appointment. The selected candidates shall be required to join immediately. Higher starting salary can be considered for candidates without standing track record and experience in relevant field.

The Institute reserves the right to relax, at its discretion, the qualification and experience in deserving cases, reject or accept any application, call limited number of candidates for test/interview, offer lower post, including a temporary post, or not fill up the post at all.
