International Centre for Theoretical Sciences (ICTS) of TIFR invites applications for the post (one) of Project Administrative Officer. The individual should be highly motivated person having ‘hands on’ experience in dealing with administrative functions. The selected candidate will be offered a consolidated salary based on qualifications and experience. The contract will initially be for a period of one year and may be further extended for two more years for a maximum contract period of three years, depending on performance.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
Post graduate degree (preferably in science, engineering or mathematics) with minimum of 60% marks in aggregate, from a reputed institution
Familiarity with computers, especially office applications, and usage of internet.
Minimum three years of work experience in relevant job profile in similar academic organizations.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience:
This position requires a person with a good background in frontiers of knowledge at the level of popular science, experience of drafting scientific proposals, minutes of academic bodies like ICTS Management Board and International Advisory Council and providing administrative assistance for processing of applications for academic jobs at ICTS. The person should have a good flair for organizing activities and coordinating with several different agencies. Excellent spoken and written English and a keen eye for detail are highly desirable.
Work experience in dealing with administrative matters viz. Government of India rules & procedures, in a medium /large sized organization, preferably an academic/research institution
Key duties involve (but are not restricted to): Drafting scientific project proposal/agreement proposals/MoU/Consortium with other organizations for various joint programs and coordinating the joint program activities.; helping in administrative tasks in dealing with scientific/academic bodies that the Centre interacts with, like the International Advisory Board of ICTS and Management Board of ICTS; compiling information and generating content for the activity report, brochure, pamphlets; assisting with the induction and promotion cases of the faculty and academic members; rendering administrative support to various events and activities of the Centre; overseeing financial aspects programming, new ventures, and day-to-day activities of the Centre; liaising with the state government and other nodal agencies; and any other task assigned by Director ICTS.
The position also manages a number of administrative staff and is responsible for functions related to human resource management of the team, including assignment of work, as well as hiring, and performance management.
Upper Age limit: 40 years (as on 1.1.2017)
Age criterion will be relaxed appropriately for candidates with higher relevant work experience than essential experience required for the post.

Tenure: Initial appointment will be for 1 year which may be extended upto a total tenure of 3 years depending upon performance and requirement of the Centre. It is a project appointment.
