The International Centre for Theoretical Sciences (ICTS) of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), a premier research centre (an Autonomous, Grant-in-Aid Institution of the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India and a Deemed University) is looking for a well trained, competent, highly motivated and self-driven individuals for the below posts under the unreserved category at its Bengaluru Campus. The required qualifications and experience are given below:

1. Project Technical Officer C (Electrical)

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

(a) Full time Degree in Engineering (B.E/B.Tech with aggregate of 60% marks) from a recognized university.

(b) Minimum three years of experience in the relevant field (handling HT yard, HT/ LT equipment like transformer, vacuum and air circuit breakers, DG sets, centralized UPS; maintenance of protective and controlling switch gears, distribution systems, underground cable, motor and power control centres, solar panels, windmills, fire alarm system, fire fighting system etc.)

Desirable Skills

● Candidates should have experience in independently handling the electrical works; operation and maintenance of UPS systems, other HT/LT installations, HVAC System, Fire Fighting System, Sewage Treatment Plant, Data Center Power and Cooling System.

● Familiarity with use of computers and knowledge about CAD Software,

● Experience in estimation of quantity, preparation of tender documents, bills and measurement books etc.

● Candidates should have fluency in oral and written communication, and documentation skills.

Age - Maximum 28 years (Age relaxation as per rules)

Job Profile

● The job profile involves planning, designing, erection, testing, commissioning and maintenance of all electrical installations like lighting, power distribution (HT/ LT transformers), DG set, fire alarm system, UPS and other electrical systems in accordance with relevant standards.

 

2. Tradesman B (Temporary) - Civil Plumbing

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

(a) National Trade Certificate (NTC) (with aggregate of 60% marks) awarded by National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) in relevant trade/discipline [Plumbing-Civil trade].

(b) Minimum 2 years experience in the similar work profile.

OR

(a) National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) (with aggregate of 60% marks) awarded by National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) in relevant trade/discipline [Plumbing-Civil trade].

(b) Minimum 1 year experience in the similar work profile.

Age - Maximum 28 years (Age relaxation as per rules)

Job Profile: Candidate should be conversant with plumbing and maintenance of public health activities etc.

Selected candidate may have to work in the round-the-clock shift duties, if required

 

3. Tradesman B (Temporary) - Electrical

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

(a) National Trade Certificate (NTC) (with aggregate of 60% marks) awarded by National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) in relevant trade/discipline [Electrical trade].

(b) Minimum 2 years experience in the similar work profile.

OR

(a) National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) (with aggregate of 60% marks) awarded by National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) in relevant trade/discipline [Electrical trade].

(b) Minimum 1 year experience in the similar work profile.

Age - Maximum 28 years (Age relaxation as per rules)

Job Profile: Candidate should be conversant with maintenance of electrical installations, laying cabling for new power points, operation of electrical switchgears in the sub-station, maintenance of electrical motors etc.

Selected candidate may have to work in the round-the-clock shift duties, if required

 

General Information:

1. All the above posts are tenable at ICTS, Bangalore.

2. Appointment for the above post at Sr. No. 1 will be initially for one year which may be extended depending upon the individual’s performance and the requirements of the Centre. The selected candidate will be required to join immediately.

3. Appointments for the above posts at Sr. No. 2 & 3 will be initially for six months which may be extended upto 1 year maximum depending upon the individual’s performance and the requirements of the Centre. Selected candidate(s) will be required to join immediately.

4. Prescribed age should not exceed as on July 1, 2021 for the above posts.

5. Interested candidates for the above posts Sr. No. 1 should Apply Online and submit their application latest by 14 August 2021. Please keep the scanned copies of the following documents before applying online.

f. SC, ST and OBC candidates applying for unreserved posts are not eligible for age relaxation except ExSM/PwD

6. Interested candidates for the above posts Sr. No. 2 & 3 should report for the selection process as per the walk-in date(s) provided above along with their CV and the following original documents for verification plus a photocopy:

Reporting Time: 10:00 am

Transport arrangement: Candidates may use the ICTS shuttle which will be parked outside the IISc gate (opposite BHEL). The shuttle will leave the pickup point at 8.45 am.

7. The Institute reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates for the recruitment process to a reasonable limit on the basis of qualifications and experience higher than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement. Mere fulfilling the essential and desirable qualifications and experience will not entitle an applicant to be called for the recruitment process. More vacancies may also be filled through this advertisement. The Institute reserves the right not to fill any/some posts herein advertised. Canvassing in any form shall disqualify the candidate.

8. Before applying for the post, the candidate should ensure that he/she fulfills the eligibility and other criteria. Recruitment authorities would be free to reject applications not fulfilling the requisite criteria, at any stage of recruitment, and if erroneously appointed, such candidates shall be liable to be terminated from service even if appointed.

9. Due to Covid-19 pandemic, the institute reserves the right to conduct written tests, skill tests, interviews etc. online.

COVID Guidelines for the Walk -in-recruitment process:-

1. Candidates should mandatorily submit self-declaration about COVID's negative status of self and family at the gate, failing which he/ she will not be permitted to enter the ICTS campus.

2. Candidates under the following category will not be permitted to enter:-

a. diagnosed with and/or undergoing treatment for COVID-19

b. have been in close proximity and/or personal contact with someone with a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19

c. Aarogya Setu App status other than Low Risk/Safe

d. having flu-like symptoms in the last fourteen days, including fever, chills, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, loss of smell/taste, or any other symptom related to COVID-19

e. have not been under fourteen day's home institutional quarantine or centralized observations demanded by government and healthcare authorities on the recruitment day

f. staying in the containment zone

3. It is mandatory to undergo thermal scanning and SPO2 test before entering the ICTS campus. Candidates with high temperatures or other symptoms of COVID-19 will not be permitted to enter the ICTS campus and participate in the recruitment process.

4. Candidates coming by interstate travel/ interdistrict travel will not be permitted to enter with a valid RT-PCR negative report done within 72 hours of the recruitment date

5. Candidates should maintain social distancing while commuting to and from the ICTS campus and from the time of entry till the exit from the campus.

6. Candidates should carry a hand-sanitizer of up to 50 ml, a face mask, gloves, food and a water bottle for personal use.

7. Candidates should not share personal items like masks, gloves, water bottles, etc.

8. It is mandatory to wear a face mask properly at all times, while on campus. The candidates are not allowed to roam around the campus.

9. Candidates should wash their hands/ use hand sanitizer before entering the examination venue.

10. Installation of Aarogya Setu app is mandatory. Candidates have to show the Aarogya Setu APP status Green (Low risk/ Safe) for entering the campus.

11. Candidates should maintain social distancing and stay more than 6 feet away from other people at all times on the campus.

12. Spitting in the open is strictly prohibited.
