Vijay Chandru, Chairman & CEO, Strand Life Sciences and an Adjunct Professor at ICTS-TIFR has been appointed to the High Panel on Science and Technology for Development at UNESCO.
The first consultation of the panel (held last week) brought out the theme of data intensive science as a strong emergent theme and Susan Avery (Woodshole) and Dr. Chandru were identified as the key panelists to define the approach to be taken. Dr. Chandru was one of the key organizers of the ICTS Discussion Meeting on "Scientific discovery through intensive data exploration" held at Bangalore in February 2011.
