Manas Kulkarni of ICTS-TIFR Bengaluru has been awarded the research grant by CEFIPRA (Indo-French Centre for the Promotion of Advanced Research). The CEFIPRA grant is a three-year grant which supports high-quality collaborative research between scientists of India and France to promote scientific accomplishments.

Manas Kulkarni has received this grant jointly with Camille Aron (Laboratoire de Physique Théorique, Ecole Normale Supérieure, Paris, France) to study the design and control of many-body quantum states in Hybrid Quantum Systems. The central agenda of research supported by the CEFIPRA grant is to provide new conceptual, methodological, and practical insights to the physics of quantum many-body systems subject to non-equilibrium drives and dissipation. Such studies on Open Quantum Systems are not only relevant from a fundamental perspective but are also of paramount importance from the point of view of device applications.
