Selected Candidate

International Centre for Theoretical Sciences (ICTS) of TIFR invites applications for the post (one) of Project Administrative Officer. The individual should be highly motivated person having ‘hands on’ experience in dealing with administrative functions. The selected candidate will be offered a consolidated salary based on qualification and experience. The contract will initially be for a period of one year and may be further extended for two more years for a maximum contract period of three years, depending on performance.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  1. Graduate degree with minimum of 60% marks aggregate, from a reputed institution
  2. Diploma in Management
  3. Familiarity with computers, especially office applications, and usage of internet. Candidates who are comfortable in working with both windows and linux based machines will be preferred.
  4. Minimum five years of work experience in grade pay 4200/4600/4800 level or equivalent grade in relevant job profile in similar academic organizations

Desirable Qualifications & Experience:

  • Work experience in dealing with administrative matters viz. Government of India rules & procedures, in a medium /large sized organization, preferably an academic/research institution

Job Profile:

Working as an integral part of the ICTS administrative team, the incumbent will be responsible for providing leadership in administrative operations for day-to-day activities of the Centre. The incumbent is expected to be involved in the enhancement and development of policies, processes and reporting systems.

The position manages a number of administrative staff and is responsible for all functions related to human resource management of the team, including assignment of work, development of emergency strategies, as well as hiring, performance management and professional development of staff. The incumbent will require exceptional negotiating, influencing and communications skills, coupled with an ability to build strong relationships with members of the Centre.

Key duties also involve (but are not restricted to): rendering administrative support to various events and activities of the Centre; compiling periodic reports about these activities; overseeing financial aspects of programming, new ventures, and day-to-day activities of the Centre; liaising with the state government and other nodal agencies; and any other task assigned by Director ICTS.

Upper Age limit: 35 years (as on 1.7.2016)

Age criteria will be relaxed appropriately for candidates with higher work experience (relevant) than essential experience required for the post.

Tenure: Initial appointment will be for 1 year which may be extended upto 3 years depending upon performance and requirement of the Centre. It is a temporary appointment.

Location: ICTS campus, Bangalore

Salary will be commensurate with the candidate's experience, and qualification. The selected candidate will be required to join immediately.
