Selected Candidate

International Centre for Theoretical Sciences (ICTS) of TIFR invites applications for the post (one) of Project Accounts Officer. The individual should be highly motivated person having ‘hands on’ experience in dealing with accounts and administrative functions. The selected candidate will be offered a consolidated salary based on qualification and experience. The contract will initially be for a period of one year and may be further extended for two more years for a maximum contract period of three years, depending on performance.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  1. Graduate degree in commerce with minimum of 60% marks aggregate, from a reputed institution
  2. Familiarity with computers, especially office applications viz. MS Office, Tally ERP 9, and usage of internet. Candidates who are comfortable in working with both windows and linux based machines will be preferred.
  3. Minimum five years of work experience in grade pay 4200/4600/4800 level or equivalent grade in the relevant job profile detailed below in similar academic organizations

Desirable Qualifications & Experience:

  1. Work experience in dealing with accounts matters viz. Government of India rules & procedures, in a medium or larger organization, preferably in a similar academic / research institution.
  2. Knowledge of SAP.

Job Profile:

Working as an integral part of the ICTS accounts and administrative team, the incumbent will be responsible for providing leadership in financial operations for the day-to-day activities of the Centre. The position will manage a team and responsible for all functions related to bookkeeping, accounting and finance management. The incumbent will require exceptional leadership qualities and negotiating, influencing and communications skills, coupled with an ability to build strong relationships with members of the Centre.

Key duties also involve (but are not restricted to): to provide necessary support for administering financial aspects of all activities of the Centre as per norms, to prepare annual budgets of the Centre, to generate periodic estimates and expenditure statements, to supervise processing of bills, to maintain their records and to carry out finalization of accounts and audits, to provide necessary support for administering financial aspects of the extramural grants as per terms of the grant and issue utilization certificates and any other task assigned by Director ICTS.

Upper Age limit: 35 years (as on 1.7.2016)

Age criteria will be relaxed appropriately for candidates with higher work experience (relevant) than essential experience required for the post.

This position is for the general category (unreserved) - SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates can also apply.

Tenure: Initial appointment will be for 1 year which may be extended upto 3 years depending upon performance and requirement of the Centre. It is a temporary appointment.

Location: ICTS campus, Bangalore

Salary will be commensurate with the candidate's experience, and qualification. The selected candidate will be required to join immediately.
